Solidarity Demonstration - Operation Tatambura
There is going to be nationwide mass-demonstrations in Zimbabwe on Wednesday, the 13th of September. Here is an excerpt from an email I received today.
The Zimbabwe Congress of trade Unions ( ZCTU), has announced that it will embark on nationwide demonstrations on the 13th of September 2006 .
The demonstrations are in protest of pertinent issues such as the shortages of basics e.g fuel,high taxation,poor wages,and high transport costs.
The countrywide demonstrations dubbed “ OPERATION TATAMBURA” are being strongly backed by the MDC in line with the UNITY RESOLUTION of the SAVE ZIMBABWE CONVENTION called by the CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE of the 29th of July 2006,whereupon it was resolved to create a unified platform for democratic forces to engage in sustainable peaceful mass actions in fight for a new democratic dispensation.
